Questions & answers with: Avery Caffee

What do you love the most about working at ABC?

I love being part of a team that truly cares—not just about the families we serve, but also about each other. There’s something special about working for an organization where people are passionate about their purpose, or as we say, our "why."

Which core value represents your leadership style?

"Fun" best represents my leadership style. I believe that when people enjoy their work environment, they’re more engaged, productive, and motivated. I strive to bring a fun, positive energy that makes ABC a place where our team feels excited to show up every day. Work can be challenging, but that doesn’t mean it can’t also be enjoyable.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the ripple effect of a well-supported team. When teammates feel valued and appreciated, their energy shifts, and that positivity carries over into their work with the children we serve. I enjoy the creativity and collaboration that comes with my role, knowing that even the smallest details of what I plan, whether it’s an event, recognition of a teammate, or streamlining an administrative task, can make someone’s day a little better and their job a little easier.

What is your favorite Action Behavior memory?

Some of my favorite memories come from my time as an RBT, working in the center and witnessing the incredible progress of the children every day. There’s something so special about being part of those breakthrough moments, whether it was a child saying or signing their first word, mastering a new skill, or simply gaining confidence in themselves. Seeing their hard work pay off and knowing I played a small part in their journey is unforgettable. Now, in my current role, my favorite memories come from seeing our team feel that same sense of fulfillment and joy. When I create experiences that remind them why they do what they do, it brings me back to those moments in the center, and that’s what makes my work so meaningful.
