Refer a patient
At Action Behavior Centers, partnering with community healthcare providers is central to our mission of making high-quality autism services accessible to more patients. Our dedicated referral team is readily available to expedite provider referrals and can be reached via fax, email, or through our provider portal.
The Action Behavior Centers provider portal offers a centralized and secure place for sending new referrals and checking on the status of previously referred patients.
The ABC referral process
- A licensed provider identifies a child between 18 months and 12 years old who may benefit from ABA therapy or diagnostic support services related to autism spectrum disorder.
- The provider or support staff sends a referral via fax, email, or through ABC's secure Provider Portal.
- Allow the Action Behavior team handle the rest! We help with:
- Getting in touch with the family. The family’s local ABC team will get in touch with the family within 24 hours to collect more information and determine appropriate next steps based on diagnostic status.
- Verifying insurance. ABC will contact the insurance provider on the patient’s behalf to verify eligibility and benefits. For insurances that do not cover services at ABC, we provide the family with resources.
- Scheduling first appointment. We do not believe in waitlists and will schedule your patient as quickly as possible.
- Ongoing provider communication. Providers can log into their secure ABC provider portal at any time for patient updates throughout the evaluation process and therapy.
ABC services
Behind the success of each ABC patient is a passionate team of more than 1,500 board certified behavior analysts (BCBAs), over 7,000 para-professionals (BTs and RBTs), and a support team of psychologists, assessment specialists, and operations professionals who are dedicated to helping children with autism thrive and reach milestones.
ABA therapy
The autism experts at Action Behavior Centers understand the importance of early intervention and have developed programs to serve autistic patients from 18 months to 12 years of age. Early intensive behavioral intervention (EIBI) is a treatment based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), which is supported by decades of research demonstrating the effectiveness of treatment, generalization, and maintenance over time.
- The programs at ABC are specifically designed for young children, particularly those who may be more severely affected by ASD.
- EIBI is a comprehensive treatment that focuses on addressing the core symptoms of autism, like social and communication deficits, restricted interests, play skills, and imitation. ABA therapy at Action is delivered at an intensity of 20 to 40 hours per week and individualized to the needs of each child.
Center-based therapy
In this playful and interactive setting, children can accomplish their personalized goals alongside their peers in a school-like environment.
ABC at Home
ABC at Home provides play-based learning in a home setting. Children work 1:1 with a clinician who teaches them how to apply what they're learning to real-life situations.
ABC Academy
ABC Academy provides part-time or full-time ABA therapy for school-age children with autism. This program is designed specifically for children ages 6–12.
Diagnostic support services
Dedicated to increasing and expediting access to autism diagnostic support for families, ABC offers a number of support services that are focused on evaluating children for possible ASD.
ABC locations
Action Behavior Centers is one of the largest providers of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy for children on the autism spectrum. With 300+ locations across the country—and more centers opening every day—ABC is committed to increasing access to autism services for families, wherever they are.
